We the directors of Carlisle Business Supplies recongnise our resonsibility to manage the environmental impacts of our activities, products and services. Here at CBS we are commited to reducing those impacts and continue to deliver improvements in our environmental performance.
In carrying out our operations we aim to comply with relevant environmental legislation and regulations, and also endeavour
to prevent pollution
We will establish procedures and set objectives and targets to manage our performance. We have also identified
key areas and measures for improving the enivironment performance of our business.
In The Workplace.
We will maximise our use of natural ventilation and daylight, employ a ' switch off ' policy for all electrical equipment and lighting and endeavour to purchase equipment that s energy efficient .
Our Fleet Vehicles.
Our intention is to optimise the efficiency of our fleet by applying best practice in our driving techniques, vehicle selection and maintenance.
Supplier Network.
The environmental policies and credentials of our suppliers will be important factors when choosing partners.
A significant proportion of the products we purchase will be recycled of FSC sourced
Customers.
We offer incentives to encourage our customers to switch to greener products & provide on-line and support.
Employees.
We continually support , encourage and train our employees to reduce their individual environmental impact and improve
performance in the workplace.
Recycling
CBS have always recycled paper, cardboard & printer cartridges. Under the waste battery regulations our Carlisle facility also allows customers to return any used batteries in person, or if you wish we can collect these free of charge. (Please do not post them). Alternatively you can find your local waste portable battery recycling facility at www.recyclenow.com. Most supermarkets & shops that sell batteries will have collection bins for used batteries, and some own halls, libraries or schools.

Recycle Your Old Electricals.
You can recycle your old electricals with us. If you are buying a new electrical item we can usually recycle your old one for free.
For The Future.
We will set ourselves targets for reducing paper usage, improve fuel efficiency & promote the sales of green products.
